live

called.

At Kontaktmission, we see mission as a dynamic movement of God. His kingdom is expanding – and we are boldly going with it! We want to work innovatively, develop the methods of tomorrow and invest in sustainable ways that bring God’s plan into the reality of today.

Jesus’ mission is alive. And it needs people like you who are ready to boldly go forward – people who want to be part of God’s mission.

How does God reach the people of tomorrow? And what part are you playing in this?

What is
your mission?

Your start with us.
How does it work?

1. Initial
meeting

In an initial meeting, which can take place online, we are interested in two things. We want to get to know you as a person and find out what you are interested in. We want to hear why you are interested in missions. Some feel a call to serve God, but do not yet know a clear direction. Others already have a specific calling. Regardless how you would describe yourself, we are keen to hear your thoughts.

We also realize how important it is for you to have the chance to gain an initial insight into who we are as Kontaktmission.

After the initial meeting, we will send you the application documents. At this point, we will also ask you for three references.

3. Second
meeting

The second meeting will take place at our office in Wüstenrot. This allows us to get to know each other even better and more personally. As it is important for your personality and concerns to match our values we want to explore with you how you can realise and live your calling.

At this point, we will also consider what type of collaboration might be suitable for you individually. From an honorary contract to working on a fee basis to employment with social insurance contributions, many things are possible.

During the onboarding process, your contract and, if necessary, a partnership agreement with the local project will be drawn up.

You will also begin to build your network of supporters in order to be sustained in your ministry through prayer and finances.

In addition, we will provide you with many valuable tools that are important for your cooperation with us.

5. Qualification
Course

A further step is the Qualification Course, which will help you to make practical preparations for your ministry. This will also make it easier for you to organise your life in the new cultural environment and to cope with the new challenges of your ministry.

The qualification course covers four main aspects:

  1. How to build and maintain a network of supporters.
  2. How do you prepare for the ups and downs you are likely to experience? We train you in the important aspects of intercultural ministry.
  3. New coworkers get to know Kontaktmission and can network with each other, make friends, exchange ideas, encourage each other and experience what it means to be part of an international movement.
  4. We train new coworkers in many very practical tools. We explain how they can work with us as a sending organisation and how communication can work well.

This is important to us!

Because a life for God can look very different,  there are no specific requirements that you have to fulfil in order to become part of Kontaktmission. Nevertheless, there are a few aspects that are important to us for your ministry:

Calling.

You should have a clear calling as to how you want to serve God. Your gifts and abilities, your personality and God’s words to you shape your individual calling. We are happy to go on a journey with you to discover and understand it or simply to confirm it.

Sending church.

We are convinced that you need a sending church as a basis that stands behind your ministry and supports you in prayer and possibly also financially. We are happy to be in contact with your church and provide support – for example, we can help organise a send-out service if you wish.

Sustainable local work.

Here we ask how your work needs to be organised so that the kingdom of God is promoted sustainably in the specific context of your country of mission. Which methods and goals are appropriate and make sense? Here, integration into local structures and the local church plays a major role.

Network of supporters.

In order to finance your service, you need a support network. While you are responisible for setting up and maintaining this network, Kontaktmission will be there to encourage you along the way.

Your mission lived.
And how we support you!

Administrative
support.

We relieve you of organisational issues so that you can pursue your mission.

Our administrative services include insurance, utility bills, IT support, state benefits such as child benefit, donation accounting and reimbursement of medical expenses. We are available 24/7 for emergencies. We also cover all questions relating to employment.

We’ve got your back!

We are praying for you!

Feel free to send us your prayer requests at any time.

Networked
support.

We are available for you at any time and will work together to find the best way to support you. Whether you are facing strategic decisions or simply have a question. Feel free to get in touch with us!

We also offer you a space for reflection or the opportunity for a professional debriefing during your stay in Germany.

You will benefit from the fact that you can network with like-minded people in various events and connect with people who, despite their differences, have the same heart: To serve Jesus.

Once a year, a conference is organised for all coworkers. You will spend three days with colleagues and friends, exchange ideas, take a deep breath, recharge your batteries, and receive training on various topics – an important milestone in the mission year!

The next conference will take place from 14th – 16th April 2025.

Grow!-
seminars.

In addition, every month there is an online seminar on different topics to support you in your development during your ministry. The seminars deal with personal-spiritual, administrative and missiological topics as well as leadership.

If you go on a mission as a family, this will of course also affect your children. They will be shaped and challenged by the (intercultural) experience. Whether it is the move to the host country, familiarising themselves with a new culture or questions such as ‘Where is my home’ and ‘Who am I?’.

Your children will need support too! That’s why there are various groups that meet every fortnight to exchange ideas, network and have fun.
